Lola performing with All Stars

11/01/2015 - This November, Lola performs Gershwin's Rhapsody in Blue with the Emmy Award-winning All-Star Orchestra & Gerard Schwarz on PBS. Check your local PBS schedule.

Pure Russian Music

- It was all about purity and beauty of the Russian music as Lola once again collaborated with the great Gerard Schwarz and the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra at the Clay Center.  The two concerts and one matinee performance were greeted with an "an extended ovation" from the audience that turned up in large numbers to see Lola perform for the second season in a row.  The previous collaboration with maestro Schwarz and his Emmy-winning All-Star Orchestra was the recording of Gershwin's famed "Rhapsody in Blue", which will be released later this year.  Click HERE TO WATCH THE TRAILER.

Lola named among top performers of the season

- "...the heart of the performance was Lola Astanova’s Paganini Rhapsody by Sergei Rachmaninoff.  The stunningly beautiful pianist is an artist of the highest caliber, a virtuoso with as much subtlety as steel in her fingers." - raved the arts critics as they put together a list of their top picks of the 2014-15 season.

"They were on fire..."

03/18/2015 - A beautiful evening at the Mar-A-Lago Club marked the final performance of the season for the Palm Beach Symphony, with Lola as the star soloist of the concert.  It was the night of Rachmaninoff and the energy in the hall was unmistakable:  "They were on fire, with subtle waves of energy pulsating like fireworks. " - wrote the Palm Beach Daily News.  Lola has once again proven to be one of the most exciting live performers of today being able to "...charm with subtlety as much as she can overwhelm with steel and fire."  The Palm Beach ArtPaper's final verdict was equally impressive: "Throughout the work, she demonstrated more of that delicate touch, with runs in the upper keyboard seeming to float in thin air, and an easy command of the very difficult runs spread throughout the piece. This was virtuoso playing in the old style, lyrical and romantic."

Four covers in December

12/01/2014 - This December Lola is the cover story of four Florida magazines: Boca Life, Gold Coast, Palm Beacher & Jupiter. Read about the music and the fashions!

Lola at the New York Ball

- It was the "who is who" of the international world of fashion, film, television and business as hundreds of distinguished guests gathered at the Trump Tower to honor the lifetime achievements of the ITALIAN VOGUE's Editor-in-Chief Franca Sozzani.  Opening with her own rendition of the "Star-Spangled Banner", Lola proceeded to wow the guests with the compositions by Chopin and Rachmaninoff, closing with the Russian master's Moment Musicaux No. 4 to a standing ovation.  VOGUE magazine called her performance "transfixing".  The star-studded audience included, Donald and Melania Trump, Hollywood power couple director Baz Luhrmann and designer Catherine Martin, fashion legend Valentino, Zac Posen, Coco Rocha, John Leguizamo, Camille Grammer, Peter Dundas, Liya Kebede, Natasha Poly, and Daria Strokous, to name a few.  Kris Jenner introduced Lola on stage.

Lola headlines the OPUS Gala at Jacobs Music Center

10/25/2014 - "Lola Astanova's meticulous Rachmaninov a tour de force in San Diego gala" - was the title of Erica Miner's review following Lola's performance at the much anticipated OPUS gala in San Diego.  The city's most premier black tie event of the year brought together San Diego's foremost cultural, business and political figures united in their love for music, and the guests of the Jacobs Music Center were not disappointed.  "Astanova’s detailed, meticulous interpretation reflected her impeccable background..." - noted the critic - "...her fingers flying over the keys so rapidly as to seem to defy gravity."

The performance was followed by a lavish reception at the University Club, where the guests greeted the soloist with a long ovation.

Lola opens new symphony season in San Diego

- After kicking-off the new season on the East Coast with the Miami Symphony earlier this month, Lola had traveled to California for a series of concerts with a premier West Coast ensemble - the San Diego Symphony with maestro Jahja Ling at the helm.  The sold-out season opener took place at Copley Music Hall, where Lola presented Chopin's concerto No. 2.  "Would her music be a reflection of her ideas or was she an empty dress in high heels? I wanted to know if she was authentic." - wrote Garrett Harris of the SAN DIEGO READER"Yes. Yes she is — beyond reproach. Her style of dress complements and supports the her style of playing music. Both are elegant, radiant, and insightful."  The audience seemed to agree, rewarding Lola and the orchestra with a standing ovation and calling her back for encores.  "Her encore was a Chopin Etude." - continued the critic - "I have heard for years that Chopin can bring an orchestral tone out of the piano but I've never heard it.  During this encore the overtones of the piano sounded, to my ear, as if the string section was playing along with Ms. Astanova."

Following the concert Lola made an appearance on CW's "WAKE UP SAN DIEGO!"
